Wednesday Rambling

Once again it's that time of year where we all pack up our mommy-mobiles and head down south on our Annual Thedford Family Vacation. (pic on left is from last year) It's always a great "kid-oriented with a little spa time squeezed in" vacation where you're in your bathing suit most of the time. It's fun and all about the kiddos!

But I just laugh thinking about it b/c with seven kids and eight adults you never know what's going to happen! :) Last year in the middle of the night the fire alarm went off. First of all... it was this loud and obnoxious "beeeooop" noise. Second of all, we all come out into the hall (kids and other strangers included) and my husband comes out in his BOXERS holding his shaving kit! (turns out he keeps his keys, watch, ring in there) We are still laughing about that moment. Then, we lay back down after all is settled and we figure out it was a "false alarm" and Lexie (still stunned from all the excitement) says "Mommy, I feel like I got punched in the stomach..." and about one minute after saying it she threw up!!!! LOL Oh yeah... that's another thing someone ALWAYS ends up throwing up on the trip too. Who will it be this year? As I've been packing today I can't help but wonder what kind of excitement and memories we'll make! :) Luckily the good outweighs the bad on these vacations! I can sure remember our family vacations as a kid, but that's another post!!! :)

It's kinda tradition that we stop off at my old college stomping grounds in San Marcos to eat at Herberts. :) This year though we're taking the kids to The Alamo for a little history lesson. Everyone needs to visit The Alamo in their lifetime right? Especially if you live in Texas!

The kids had SO much fun at Sky Ranch last week. I wish I had taken video of their closing ceremony. A friend took a pic of the girls with their counselors for me so I didn't have that pic yet to post. Rylan, unfortunately, put a gash in his head (note the bandaid in the pic that's covering up the "superglue" stuff they put on his boo boo) at the pool halfway through the week so he didn't get to participate in the water activities at camp and was pretty bummed out, but still managed to have a good time!

On another random note Lexie has lost all kinds of teeth including this last one... her top big tooth and it's soo hilarious to see her without it! She lost it while BT and I had gone away for a little get-away this last weekend. Can you say "snaggletooth?"
