Manic Monday

Remember this song? :) It's how I feel after coming off of a GREAT Mother's Day yesterday. These two right here are the reasons that I was able to celebrate yesterday. My children... I am grateful. (By the way, they were playing in the rain we had last week in this pic)

I told BT, out of the 8 years of being a "mom", I think it was my favorite so far! It was nothing spectacular, just a simple great day. We had lunch with his family, dinner with mine, some chillin' in between and I topped it off with a long hard run at dark thirty. It just seemed that the kids played SO well together ALL day and I got to really relax.

It sure did help that Rylan started off my day with the red "you are special" plate in my face and a great card that he had made. For those of you that don't know... he gets up first at our house. He put two pieces of toast, an apple and a paper towel on the plate. He woke me up and said "Happy Mother's Day... look mommy... I made a smiley face."

Let me just say that BT was still sound asleep next to me. In other words, Daddy didn't put him up to it... it was Rylan's own idea. Even better. He's "so glad I'm his mommy"... wow... my 8 year old who asked me a couple of weeks ago if he could start calling me "mom" instead of "mommy", is GLAD that I'm his mom still. Great! My heart was melting to say the least.

Lexie proceeded to give me her card she made and some love after she woke up. Of course, I feel like she treats me as if everyday is Mother's Day. She's always picking a flower, drawing a note and so giving, loving and thoughtful. They were both so sweet.

After all, we are the family that cannot keep surprises from each other, they had already given me my "real" gift earlier in the week!! LOL
