Texas Day

Yesterday Lexie had a rootin-tootin' day at school b/c she had Texas Day. It's always so cute. BT & I have probably seen about 6 or 7 Texas Days in our lives, but this one would be our last. Lexie was so cute and did an excellent job singing all those Texas tunes.

She has a friend named Nick that she talks about ALL the time. It goes back and forth from either William or Nick. Nick's mom and I were talking b/c they've been wanting to go home from school together (you know how kids make all these plans). I just felt myself wanting to BUST out laughing as his mom & dad were trying to feel me out about Lexie and why their son Nick would want this cute little girl to go home with him. Before the dad walked up his mom said "So..... does Lexie have any older brothers??" and then the dad walked up and asked the same thing. A conversation they had obviously had and were wondering... which I understood. I said, "yes, she has an older brother & anything she plays with him is whatever her brother chooses". (and it's not dolls people) It's usually playing in the mud, catching bugs, riding bikes and scooters, shooting hoops, jumping on the trampoline or playing soccer. The fact is that she holds her own when she's out on the playground playing soccer & running around with the boys at her school. She's impressed them all b/c she's a little athlete... not to mention that she's as sweet as pie and adorably cute. That is Lexie - that's how God made her, that's what makes her unique & that's what we love about her. It just makes me smile.

Anyway, Lexie walked out for the program at Texas Day and guess who she was sitting by? Nick. The boy on her right with the brown hair who is soo cute and sweet is Nick.
