Do you know what this is???
pome·gran·ate (pmgrnt, pm-, pm-, pm-)
n. 1. A deciduous shrub or small tree (Punica granatum) native to Asia and widely cultivated for its edible fruit.
2. The fruit of this tree, having a tough reddish rind, and containing many seeds, each enclosed in a juicy, mildly acidic, red pulp
It's a pomegranate! Every once in awhile something catches my eye at the grocery store & I just have to get it to experiment. Now, I'm 31 yrs. old and never tried one of these before so I decided it would be great for my kids at young ages to try... and myself too. I did my research and went to the internet & of course, youtube to see if there was a certain way to peel one of these and came across this video....
After seeing this I was like "oh great.... what a pain!" Anyway, it was well worth the experience. In fact, when you open it up it looks like this....
Let me just say... it's as good as it looks! We were ALL eating it up! It was sooo yummy... it was like burst of vitamin c in your mouth... and it was just never ending. I peeled it with my hands like the girl on the video & everytime you thought you had gotten most of the little juicy things there would be more & more! The only thing is that it was so full of juice it got everywhere including my white shirt I had (& still have on)! Also, I get Pomegranate juice at the store & there is no comparison! Here's to the Pomegranate... go to the store & get you some!!
