Maple

What a beautiful day today!! I hardly ever get them, but I have a sorry cold that's making me sound like I'm holding my nose & feel like my head's gonna explode. It started yesterday.

I am a HUUUGE fan of Japanese Maples. Mine are like my little "babies". There are stories behind mine. My neighbors have this one that I just ADORE that turns crimson red in the fall... in fact, the leaves are just starting to change. It must be in the most perfect place. So, about two years ago I was at the Walmart gardening section looking at trees when I couldn't help but notice these two tiny trees that looked to be Japanese Maples that were shoved back in a corner by a water hose. They were. There were two of them and they were $24.99 each - that is SOO cheap! Well, I brought them home and planted them. I laugh b/c they seriously looked like a small limb had fallen off the big tree beside it & stuck into the ground straight up. They were sad. I put supports around it and even worried when the wind blew really hard. Long story short, two years later and my trees are soo pretty. They are kinda dry right now, but are so beautiful. If we ever move I'm taking this one with me! BT thinks I am kidding about that, but I'm serious. Here's one of my maples.

Lex got her very first bee sting yesterday and it was pretty sad. She was next door helping the neighbors clean up toilet paper after they got wrapped (which they got wrapped last night again)... so, she was trying to do a good deed & got by a bee's nest and got stung.

Here's the man in his game yesterday. He did great as usual! I hate that I didn't get pics of Lex in hers b/c I was coaching her game again yesterday, yes... with my cold, not fun.
